GYB: As The Awards Keep Rolling In, WE MOVE

The most recent big award in the kitty is the SUN NEWSPAPERS GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD. Was that for doing nothing? Those who hate the strides and the courage of the Young dynamic Governor of Kogi State will voice tommy-rot, but the fact remains incontrovertible, he has outperformed his peers, and as a Governor he has recorded Olympic feats in Security, Job Creation, Gender Inclusiveness, Religious Tolerance, Agriculture, Health etc.

The last time I checked, the Nigerian Union of Journalists NUJ Lagos State Chapter had given him an award for enterprising leadership. The National Chapter of the NUJ honoured him as an Exemplary Leader. The NUJ FCT Abuja Chapter gave him the Award of the Torchbearer of Security, and what other platform can most credibly and creditably say it as it is? Will the entire assemblage of Journalists from different Press, Electronic and Print decide to deceive? May it be known to all those who loathe and hate the Governor Yahaya Bello GYB phenomenon, that the awards will keep rolling in, because their hate will not blind the eyes of patriots and statesmen to the glowing light and strides of GYB.

Are you also aware that GYB was honoured by the Kwararafa Reporters as the Governor of the Year very recently? Are you aware that across the nation the GYB Movement stands tall with hundreds of Awards coming in from established media outfits, YOUTH groups, Civil Society outfits, Corporate Organizations? Do you think that they are for nothing? Are they simply about the politics of 2023? Think again. But truly ‘only a tree that bears ripe fruits get stoned’, so we are not troubled about the stones of naysayers, we have vowed however to never allow their lies and falsehood against GYB to stick. As they lie, we shall continue to tell the truth, for the truth only can set us, and indeed our nation free.

Did you observe the recent face saving volte face of the EFCC regarding the spurious litigation concerning Kogi, GYB and the 20b allegedly fixed in Sterling Bank for interest? The EFCC has since withdrawn the case, but we yet insist that they tell Nigerians the whole truth. Sterling Bank did not promise to return any money to the CBN because they cannot return what they do not have. There was no money fixed for profit, the money was used to clear the arrears Salaries which was the reason it was released by the FG in the first place, therefore tell all naysayers and purveyors of falsehood that their lies won’t stick.

Youth O’Clock is the trust of the moment and the urgency of now. The Youths have elected to identify with their own, they are ready, willing, able and resolute about the quest for a new deal for our Country. The GYB phenomenon across the nation is the validation of this trust. Young people are saying no to the lies and falsehood consistently woven against their Star Man in leadership. They are saying that the lies out there cannot defeat the truth.

And the TRUTH is that GYB is the best Governor in the Nigeria in the area of Gender Equality and Youth Inclusiveness, as recognized by a huge platform as the United Nations (UN Women), a research on this will amaze you. As the awards and honours roll in, We Move. So do your facts check and join the GYB Movement today.

The TRUTH is that GYB has made Kogi State the safest State in the North and the second safest State in Nigeria.

The TRUTH is that GYB has made Lokoja the capital city of Kogi State one of the fastest growing cities in Africa today.

The TRUTH is that Kogi State under GYB leads the pack in the roll of the States that service and reduce/repay their local debts in Nigeria. Thanks to the prudence and dexterity of the helmsman and Accountant cum Auditor with a midas touch, GYB.

The TRUTH is GYB’s Kogi State is not owing workers, and Kogi States tops the chart in paying Medical and Health Workers their salaries and emoluments.

The TRUTH is that Kogi State under GYB boasts of one of the most functional Rice Mills in Nigeria today. And that the Kogi State Agricultural Revolution scheme is second to none.

The TRUTH is that Kogi State has one of the best Skill Acquisition and informal education programmatic which is the key to creating jobs and making the seemingly unemployable employable.

The TRUTH is that with the Kogi State share of the COVID-19 Palliative funds, GYB is 65% done in building one of the biggest health facility in West Africa in Kogi State, and no other Governor presently serving has achieved that feat.

The TRUTH is that GYB is a unifier and a bridge builder and he has manifestly proven that on several fronts. Mediating the truce that ended the food blockade between the North and the South in February is a testament. Intervening along with the Governors of the South West in quelling the fulminating Fulani/Yoruba tiff in Oyo, Osun and Ondo States is lucid. And constantly reaching out to the leaders of the disparate ethnicities that people Nigeria is halcyon.

And the TRUTH about the GYB magic is ad infinitum, do you yet wonder why the awards keep rolling in? Wonder no more, our promise is to keep churning out the WHOLE TRUTH, for the lies against GYB won’t stick. GYB stands out.

As the awards for his great deeds and ennobling strides in leadership continue to roll in, Countrymen and women, WE MOVE with 2023 and the high office of President is our sure destination. It is YOUTH O’CLOCK Nigeria. God Bless You All.

ENDSARS One Year After, We Must Commit Ourselves To New Values -Yahaya Bello

As the Youngest serving Governor in Nigeria, I will not overlook the trust of our young people expressed across our nation some 12months ago. Indeed every strata of leadership in our nation was called to action, we were challenged to new values in leadership, and were all reminded of the fact that power truly belongs to the people.

At various fora our Dear President has admitted that our Young People spoke out loud and clear against oppression, tyranny and brutality, and that they did so hugely in the ENDSARS protests of October, 2020. The Vice President has admitted that much, and across our nation, States and Agencies of Government are taking steps to atone and mitigate the wrongs done the citizenry by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS. But the lesson remains and reverberates, it is a call to Leadership at all levels, elected or appointed, to commit to new values. We must make the people the primary trust of leadership. We must protect rights and liberties. We must make the Youths the linchpin of governmental trust, and we must listen when they call us out.

In October 2020 I did not only show solidarity with our Young People in the protests, I also lamented the carnage and the looting that became the sour point of the protestation. As a nation and a people we have learnt deep painful lessons, leaders and followers alike. May we resolve to always listen to each other, to disagree, to agree, and to agree to disagree albeit peacefully. And may we always treasure the flawless width, height and breadth of dialogue and peaceful engagement.

In acknowledging the first year of the ENDSARS protests, I must call leadership and followers to the primacy of dialogue and proactive engagement over fierce contestation. I must as a Leader urge and nudge my colleagues to new paradigms. We must engage with all stratas of society particularly the largest demography which is the Young People.

We must include the Youths, and engage them effectively in leadership across all levels. We must create platforms where they can effectively engage with leadership. We must agree that on the political stage no longer will young people serve only as hewers of wood and drawers of water, but that the young people of Nigeria, must, should, and will be deemed fit and deserving of leadership at all levels.

We commiserate with all the victims, the young people, their families, and with the Security men and women who fell victim to the sad spectacle that became the end of the ENDSARS protestation on the 20th of October, 2020. May we as a nation build values that will make such moments anathema. May we grow values centred on love and dialogue. And may the memories of ENDSARS protestation challenge everyone of us to responsible and responsive values as leaders and the led.

Finally, as noted by the National Economic Council, may our young people sheath their sword and allow the compensatory effort of governments across the nation to serve as worthy memory of the ENDSARS protests a year after.
God Bless Nigeria.

ARMY IS NOT CONSTRUCTING RUGA SETTLEMENT IN ANY PART OF SOUTH EAST

The 82 Division Nigerian Army has noted with utmost concern, a baseless allegation aired through an outlawed online radio that the Division of the Nigerian Army is currently constructing a Ruga Settlement between Ochima and Affa in Igbo-Etiti and Udi Local Government Areas, Enugu State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the acting deputy director public relations Major Abubakar Abdullahi  and made available to the press on 13th October 2021
Though this inciting broadcast emanates from a source bereft of any credibility whatsoever, there is need however to present the facts clearly for the sake of posterity. It must be emphasised that Nigerian Army Engineers are not constructing any Ruga Settlement in any part of Nigeria.  Rather, the Engineers are currently constructing a military training facility between Ochima and Affa in Igbo-Etiti and Udi Local Government Areas, Enugu State. Upon completion, the facility will accommodate troops during training and aid to improve their efficiency in protecting law abiding citizens across the South East. Any counter narrative aired on the project is a malicious falsehood aimed at inciting the public against the Nigerian Army.
Members of the public are therefore advised to disregard such untrue and false information emanating from this aforementioned media or any information source. The Nigerian Army remains a credible institution that unites the country and has no place for ethno-religious sentiments. We shall continue to carry out our constitutional tasks objectively across the country and remain totally apolitical.

Theater Commander Calls for Improve Capacities of Personnel

Theater Commander Operation Hadin Kai, North East, Maj. Gen Christopher Musa has called for improve capacities of Junior officers and soldiers, urging participants of Course 5, Nigerian Army War College to develop realistic strategies that will aid the counter-terrorism operation in the country.

General Musa made the call in Maiduguri when he received the participants of Course 5, Army War College at the Headquarters, Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The Commander urged the participants to dig deep while coming up with modules as the war on insurgency is changing.

He commended the Army War College of Nigeria for its initiatives and contributions to operational plans and Strategies.

He said with the successes recorded and efforts being put in place as well as other operational plans and strategies, Insurgency will soon come to an end in the country.

The Theatre Commander who expressed delight for the visit, equally noted that “the participants would see for themselves what they have been taught theoretically in the college in order for them to have opportunity to see the practicality at the warfront.

He also advised them to avail themselves of the privileges available at their disposal by engaging practically in various army operations while pointing out that their different experiences will help them contribute to their roles, capabilities and quality leadership.

The Commandant of the Army War College, Major General Solomon Odounwa said the participants were visiting the theatre to seek how they can expand studies on military operation in the north-east.

He said it was also an opportunity to contribute to what the theatre is doing and to lay foundation for the young officers who will be the military commanders in the nearest future.

He said the college had been monitoring the development at the theatre and the successes recorded despite the challenges including difficult terrain.

“We are here to see how we can contribute to what you are doing and to lay foundation for our young officers who will be our military commanders in the nearest future,” disclosed the commandant.

The Director of the college, Brig Gen Alkali said the institute was established to train educational leaders of the Nigerian Army with various modules including military contribution to existing operations, peace building among others.

He said the college has a mandate to produce well trained military officers and the Course 5 participants include 30 military officers, four allied forces from Niger, Togo, DR Congo and Liberia.

Yahaya Bello And The Tangled Web Of Detractors.

The times are excitingly splendid for thinking, and the moment instructive. In my previous Press Statements I captured like a clairvoyant the times and the moment. And the drama is playing out speedily.

Before us is the Political fervency and currency of 2023, and without equivocation there are two clear divides already, the one is the group that seek political power for good and are engaging with the people, in this group Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi comes top. And the second is the group that seek power by all means and for selfish end, and to this group falsehood, deceit, debauchery and blackmail is king. Failing to push through with narrowing down the political space through zoning and rotation of the Presidency, they have deployed their goons armed with falsehood and deceit, but yet again, their lies won’t stick.

Sir Walter Scott captured the moment succinctly in that great quote of his from which I strictured the caption of this piece. “O what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive”.

I shall place before you a few direct shots of those who have refused to build structures for what they consider their 2023 ambition, but have chosen to lie and trade deceit against the manifest front runner Governor Yahaya Bello GYB whose structures are presently effective, efficient and effectual across the nation. Youths and Elders alike are united in the call for the New Deal that GYB epitomizes.

They have told many lies against GYB, and we have consistently and clearly rebutted them, but for the umpteenth time let me place the records straight. And if you cannot research the facts, do not at least give vent and life to their lies and falsehood, because they won’t stick.

  1. They have lied that GYB does not pay workers. And the Truth is that GYB is not owing salaries. It is also an undeniable fact that Kogi State tops the Chart in the payment of Teachers and Medical/Health Workers in Nigeria.
  2. They say that GYB is not a performer. The truth is that Kogi State under GYB Kogi State has the most functional Rice Mill in Nigeria today. That today the Kogi State capital Lokoja is one of the fastest growing cities in Africa. That Kogi State under GYB leads the pack in the roll call of States that are servicing their local debts. That Kogi State with 9 borders including the FCT is the safest State in the North, and the second safest State in Nigeria. That Kogi State is the most gender sensitive and women friendly government in Nigeria. That Kogi State is the most Youth inclusive state in Nigeria, and the record continues.
  3. They lied that Kogi State put a whooping 20billion naira loan meant for the payment of Salaries into an interest yielding account in Sterling Bank. Unfortunately for the liars who have continued to push that false narrative, the Bank has denied the existence of any such funds. And the State of Kogi has not only refuted that daybreak falsehood but have taken legal steps against the purveyors of that falsehood.
  4. They have lied alleging improper disbursement of the COVID-19 funds by Kogi State. Forgetting that it is on record that Kogi State is the only state in Nigeria that has deployed some of the funds in building and upgrading her medical facilities. Remarkably the construction of one of the best ultra modern Hospitals in the whole of Africa is ongoing in Okene, Kogi State. Today that hospital is more than 65% ready. And clearly Resident Doctors and Health Workers have said severally that Kogi State is one of the few States that has religiously kept with their obligation to Medical Workers.
  5. They have lied about the prudence of the GYB administration. Unfortunately for them, every index of financial decency, credibility, prudence, accountability and decorum have shown the administration of the Accountant and Auditor called Governor Yahaya Bello GYB as topnotch and above board.
  6. They have lied against his strides in human capital development. Alas Kogi State is one of the States with the least prevalence of communicable diseases including the COVID-19 scourge. And Kogi State does not only feature in the chart of the States with the best compliance with the Mellenium Development Goals requirements, but has built many skill acquisition centres and have also trained so many in modern farming skills.
  7. The lie that GYB has dumped his aspiration for the high office of President and started lobbying for the position of Vice President is the cheapest and the most kindergarten of the many lies of the detractors. However we do not grudge the cowardice of those who have sleepless nights because of GYB. Take this to the Bank, Governor Yahaya Bello GYB is in the race for good, and come 2023 it will be a promise kept and a new walk as PYB. The fact we hold dear is that it is Youth O’Clock and GYB is the baton holder and the grail bearer of that trust, and we are committed to the path to a New Nigeria.

We shall therefore continue to ceaselessly debunk the perfidy of those who have made deceit and debauchery their manifesto for 2023. And we shall persistently present the GYB magic as the visible and viable choice for a better Nigeria come 2023. God Bless Nigeria.
